Mtec was founded in 1998, under the name ChampionChip Minnesota. In 2010, ChampionChip Minnesota's name was changed to Mtec to encompass the greater variety of services that the company offers.
Mtec offers innovative timing and scoring solutions for competitive athletic events worldwide. We utilize RFID technology with options for MYLAPS Bibtag, ProChip, and ChampionChip.
Mtec provides timing and scoring solutions for more than 100 national and international events each year. Events include the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, Grandma’s Marathon, Door County Triathlon, Reggae Marathon (Negril, JA), Columbus Marathon, and Akron Marathon. Since 1998, Mtec has also provided timing support for the Boston Marathon, Chicago Marathon, and Houston Marathon. On top of large running events, Mtec provides timing and scoring solutions for countless smaller road, triathlon, ski, bike, and cross country races.
